Welcome to RYE RUGBY CLUB, the home to Spike Milligan, one of Britain’s best loved comedians!!

Spike was well known for his love of Rugby, and here at Rye that love for the game runs deep within. Formed in 1991, the club still has many founder members still currently playing and loving every minute of it! Hard work on the pitch and behind the scenes has seen the club’s First XV recently promoted to the top Sussex League whilst the aptly named Goons has signed up to one of the Sussex lower leagues. The club has also recently secured it’s own ‘new’ clubhouse which houses 3 changing rooms, showers, toilets, and most importantly a large bar area, where you can often watch rugby games on the projector and large screen!

The club puts a huge emphasis on the social side of things and the clubhouse is regularly full of players, family and friends enjoying a few jars after training and games, keeping the team spirit high amongst all members. Come game day spirits remain high and the emphasis shifts towards putting in a good performance for the onlooking supporters…. all 30-odd of them! Regular match reports are written and posted to the Senior Results and Youth section of the site.

Rye is a great family club and we always welcome new players (young and old!), supporters, sponsors or just keen rugby enthusiasts - so come on down and get involved, you’ll be welcomed with open arms! :-)
