Girls rugby has taken off in a big way at Rye over the last two months. First we have got a new girls team who played their first matches at Hellingly in March against some tough opposition from H3 and South Sussex Barbarians and then we have had over 15 women joining the younger girls to form their own team ready for next season.
Now our girls have their first home game against Crowborough girls (anothert new outfit) on Sunday 27th April kick off at 11.30 after the boys U15 match at 10.30.
If you can make it get down to the club and support the girls (and boys) as they take on the might of Crowborogh, it should be a memorable end to the season.Â

Rye’s new girls team are playing their first matches this weekend when they travel to Hellingly for a triangular tournament against H3 and Lewes.
The girls have been training for six weeks and are looking forward to putting their new skills into practice. There are 14 girls in the squad ranging from 12 to 15 years of age, all of whom were introduced to the game through the club’s schools development programme. The girls attend Thomas Peacocke School in Rye and Robertsbridge Community College, where they also play matches against other schools.
The whole of Rye Rugby Club wishes the girls good luck for their first fixture.
